TheBetas is a Minecraft Beta 1.7.3 server.
On 3 March 2024, TheBetas v3, the current, final and definitive version of TheBetas was launched. On the same day, Russian YouTuber Ivni (bee4bee) found TheBetas via the Legacy Tracker and recorded a video playing TheBetas with Blinky (Hayden) and jinhoyoo. TheBetas remained quiet with some but not many players until 8 March 2024, when Ivni uploaded “I FOUND A FRIEND on an ABANDONED SERVER | A Minecraft Story” (original title: “НАШЕЛ ДРУГА на МЕРТВОМ СЕРВЕРЕ | История в Майнкрафт”). After the upload, TheBetas soared in popularity. Blinky was informed that Ivni had uploaded this video by a player named MADword. The Discord server’s member count increased from around 100 members to a peak of around 450 members. TheBetas had a peak player count of 49 players online on 13 March 2024. Due to the explosion in popularity, TheBetas was griefed. TheBetas players got together to destroy lava casts, and rollbacks were frequent due to the scale of griefs. Most players from the ‘bee4bee wave’ left, including Ivni himself, but a few remained. A group called the Spawn Restorers, consisting of players Nesuta, ITTO, SkillPlus, 0x0001f and Chiza was formed in order to repair historical builds and clean up griefs near spawn. sinecaus also heavily contributed despite not being part of the original Spawn Restorers group. Blinky made the group official on 16 February 2025, and Spawn Restorer is now a rank that players receive for being dedicated to TheBetas, similar to Conference rank for New The30s.
